Production process
Raw material preparation:
Select appropriate alloying elements, such as chromium, nickel, manganese, silicon, etc., to ensure that they meet the chemical composition standards of 310S stainless steel.
Smelting:
The prepared raw materials are melted in an electric arc furnace or induction furnace to form liquid metal. The temperature and composition need to be controlled during the melting process to ensure the uniformity and quality of the alloy.
Casting:
The molten metal is poured into a mold and cooled to form an ingot. The size and shape of the ingot are designed according to the subsequent processing requirements.
Hot rolled or cold rolled:
After the ingot is heated to the appropriate temperature, it is rolled through a hot rolling mill to form a preliminary tube billet. Cold rolling is carried out at room temperature and is usually used to improve the accuracy and surface finish of the tube.
Tube forming:
The tube blank is processed into the required tube shape by extrusion, welding or other forming processes. For seamless tubes, piercing and expansion processes are usually used.
Heat treatment:
Heat treatment is performed on the formed tube to eliminate internal stress and improve the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the material. Common heat treatment methods include annealing and solution treatment.
Cooling and cleaning:
After heat treatment, the tube needs to be cooled and pickled or other cleaning processes to remove surface oxides and impurities.
Inspection and testing:
Carry out various inspections on the produced 310S stainless steel pipes, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing, X-ray testing), etc., to ensure that the products meet the standards.
Surface treatment:
According to customer needs, surface treatment such as polishing, sandblasting, etc. is carried out to improve the appearance and corrosion resistance of the pipe.
Packaging and Shipping:
Finally, the qualified 310S stainless steel pipes are packaged and ready to be shipped to customers.
